Zoner whale needs weapons

"pay the pirates" is NOT the solution to get along with them. - that is not a valid argument at all.

BUT

here comes what i expect a zoner trader to do

a zoner trader ( basicly every trader ) should also RP *outside* his actual trading. - a trader KNOWS what routes he is flying. - he knows who he s meeting and he knows about the dangers. - i actually DO expect a zoner NOT to pay up rediculous demands from any filthy pirate.
i expect a zoner however ( if he complains about it ) - to initiate diplomatic talks with the pirate parent factions. so when i am likely to run into Gaians on my route.... i expect a zoner to talk to the gaians. - that won t prevent every piracy attempt - but it opens many doors to talk about countless alternatives to "pay or die".

the zoner whale is meant to inspire that idea. - "talk your way out" is not really meant as a situational solution to piracy. - it is meant to create a more "wholesome" roleplay. - a trader isn t a bot that goes from A to B... he can also have a personality, forge friendships or at least ties as a basis of negotiations.




many traders just buy stuff and sell stuff - then they get into a piracy attempt and are totally overwhelmed. - of course i cannot "talk" with the pirates or work out alternate compromises when all the pirates know of me is a 30 seconds piracy incident.

things look much better ( but not necessarily ) when i have established at least rudimentary diplomatic ties with the pirates.

long story short - i do not wish zoners to just cough up and pay whatever they are asked for. - i wish zoners to use their neutrality to do whatever is needed to get away alive WITH their cargo and WITH their money. - zoners should use coercion, seduction, haggling. - a zoner can blackmail he can threaten and he can be docile. - a zoner can do a lot more things than a coorperate trader.

and funny enough - weapons become very secondary.
