A couple of days ago I received a direct comm call from a respeted bounty hunter, notifying me of GST traders and escorts using Freeport 4 in Magellan during their smuggling runs. Transcript of the conversation follows:

Firstly, let it be known that the IMG do NOT have any affiliation with the GST or any smuggler, whether they be independant or in an organised group. We would like you to refrain from saying false statements implicating there being a close relationship between the IMG and the GST, as there is none and most likely will never be one.

The Guild Council is still discussing what actions should to be taken against the GST, or whether any action will be taken at all. However, the following has at least been agreed upon:

- As stated under Edict 63, Freeport 4 is open to all parties. As such, GST vessels are free to dock on FP4 and any other IMG "Freeports".

- However, due to our participation in the Treaty of Curacao, we cannot stop Liberty Navy and Bretonian Armed Forces from attacking or arresting you within Magellan space, although they still have to adhere to the 5km no-fire zone implemented around FP4.

- The IMG also have no obligation within the Treaty of Curacao to stop GST vessels smuggling contraband other than couterfeit software. That being said, we also have no obligation NOT to notify them of your passing through the Magellan system or you currently using our base to refuel..

- Finally, the IMG are steadfast in slowing the trade of cardamine within Sirius, as the profits gained ultimately ends up with the Outcasts. Should you decide to haul this through Magellan or any other system containing IMG activity, be warned - you may have a hard time getting docking permission from any IMG freeport's staff, no matter how much we tell them to be unbiased, and our own pilots in space may not take too kindly to your lack of hindsight as well..

Currently, we would like to think our view towards the GST is neutral until further notice, though evidence of GST vessels carrying cardamine may change this stance. Any other decisions made by the IMG may be posted here, either by me, our Guildmaster or the other directors. IMG supervision of Freeport 4 will increase to ascertain whether further initiatives are needed in light of increased smuggler activity, though we hope further action need not me taken.
