No Sanctuary

"There's a certain feeling known to all who hear the sound of the call of a morning rising. You're in a mystic space, feel the chill of the wind. Can't you feel the force embrace as it names you? Can't you see the lies in front of you?"

She fell to her knees crying "Give me Sanctuary!" The massive wooden doors stayed silent watching her kneel.

"Your journey ends so far, and still the distance spins around you, until the end you'll fight and die, to be free? No sanctuary! There's a void in your mind that you cling to. You feel lost in time, you've got no words to rhyme, no more charms, no more spells to protect you!"

The gigantic walls of black stone became streams of visualized computer data. A Devil appeared in front of her. He was simply huge. Overwhelmed by his presence she felt his tail touching her, whipping her body, she was lost.

"I like to look at shadows sweating on the wall!"

The Devil spoke entering her mind: "I am the beat of your pulse, the computer word made flesh, we are one you and I, we are versions of the same, when you can see what I feel don't turn your back on me or you might find that your dreams are only program codes. Your mind is open for me, open for intake of all propaganda, your Eyes see now what to see, my eyes see only the programs you give me. I'll teach you to laugh and to cry they're really the same you'll see. All of the why's in your life are under my control. Feed me more lines! I will try to tell you all I can before the light goes off, you must know what lies behind my screams. I can't tell you all I know am I the son that you've always been wanting. There's more to me than what shows."

"Are you my father?"

"Hush now, I'll give all you need to know and pre-live your dreams for you. You're a good boy"

"But I am a girl!"

The computer Devil laughed his long tail, wet, swirling around...

"You asked what my purpose in life is... I guess I'll live, struggle to make a faint trace of a legacy and disappear in the Malvada to emerge enlightened, changed... in a way or another..." She spoke to the silent friend besides her and her eyes looked at the distant green cloud beyond Crete. Her hands, slightly shaking, were holding a cup filled with some steaming dark liquid, the grip tightening. The tear-stains lining her face were not belonging to her. "Don't you wonder, what's happening to our lives? I can't keep living this masquerade when my lonely eyes see only your face at night!"

"I only see in infrared! I can't dream anymore!"
