Order vs BHG [Outcome Discussion]

lets not forget the motivations for the conflicts. - the BHG core does not fight the order cause they decided to do so ( that is going to war against the order ), or cause its "the thing to do/tradition" ( like outcasts vs. corsairs ), or cause of reasons of power and dominance ( kusari vs. bretonia ).

the reasons for a war are important when considering a possible outcome. - there is almost no way to pacify the outcasts and corsairs, cause the reasons for their hostility are buried so deep that not even them can really tell what makes the other side a "mortal enemy" other than that they have been a mortal enemy ever since. ( which after all is a good enough reason to go to war with another side )

from what i know - the orderr of events was that:
- the order decided to take up a covert role after the great war to study the aliens outside the bonds of a house - to have more freedom in what to do, how to do and where to do it.
- the BHG have decided to actually do the very same. but while the order "claims" to do it for the good of mankind and with all the responsibility available, the BHG core approached the same problem with all the cunning and greed that humans can muster ( or so far the stereotypes - which are quite reasonable for that matter )

- the war broke out OVER the aliens. - the war is "fresh" , both sides know why they went to war. - and there is a problem of the war.

* recently, the BHG was waging war against the order and the order waged war against the BHG. - what is wrong with the picture is that .... - both sides kind of forget the nomads in that. - regarding to the lore, they would probably rather ignore each other... but fight "for" the nomads to the end. - the BHG will do ANYTHING to gain ... for that matter "blue keeper kill messages" - while the order will do the same to prevent that and to get the same. - their reason for the war are the nomads and nothing else ( at least at that state )

why is that important? - cause you can "make a peace" easily still. ( in theory at least ) - the BHG does not "hate" the order to their bones, the order does not "hate" the BHG. if one of both would retreat from their "claim" on nomads - or if ... and that is basicly a possibility, too.... decided to get to an agreement on responsibility to deal with the aliens.... the war could easily turn out to a truce - or more. ( something that is unthinkable for other war parties like hessians / corsairs for example )


before the order is "defeated" i think they would rather relinquish their claim on the nomads - and give the BHG free reign, not interfering with the BHG core to exploit the nomads anymore. - at that point, the "war" would end. - if the order doesn t prevent a full access to the remote systems anymore, the BHG has no reason to fight them for those anymore.

reality has also shown that a way to "win" an argument is to cooperate. - by direct or indirect influence on the BHG, the order could "teach" the BHG the responsibility needed to deal with what they find. - this is just an alternate outcome - for the possibility that nither the order, nor the BHG core are idiotic hardliners that know no compromises and alternatives.

another outcome is that the nomads are driven off - no nomads, no war. - no war = the core seeks another cause to rush in ... or dissolves... so does the order.
