It's a fine day for the Legion.
Late in the morning today, I decided to take the Haliaetus out to New York to tell the Libertonians about the Ragnarok. I'm guessing the Navy doesn't really like the idea of letting people know about that, but people deserve to know. It's their House, right? Well, just as I finished up with that, the LNS Atlanta apparently opened fire on and nearly killed a member of the Liberty Police for no reason! Now, I'm not one to suppose the police, but blatant murder? Besides, that particular cop seemed decent.
More importantly, he was giving credibility to my story by talking about how he remembers it. Of course, the Navy started to swarm after that, and they were pretty confused, so I figured that it was a perfect time to make a quick strike into the heart of Liberty. I let Commander Atheus know about it, and he called up the Incursus and pulled together a good force. We quickly moved to high orbit of Planet Manhattan and engaged a pair of capital ships, including the Atlanta. The Incursus quickly decimated the LNS Atlanta, which proved to be a Liberty Assault Battlecruiser, and the LNS Fury, a Siege Cruiser.
Gun cam recording failed.
The Incursus then retreated, and our fighters and bombers moved to attack the Libertonian fleet. Joining us were a number of friends and allies, including an Outcast Gunship and several Lane Hackers. Of course, with so many superior pilots, we began quickly mowing down the Libertonians. First to fall was a Liberty Navy Eagle (apparently their own ship building expertise has fallen so low lately that their own ships won't suffice...).
A Navy ace by the name of Logan Willows then made both an entrance and a hasty exit via his escape pod. This guy isn't somehow related to that Admiral or whatever she is of theirs, is he? Meanwhile, a Battlecruiser of some kind showed up at this point and fired on us from under cover of the planetary defenses.
Of course, we lost some as well. Some officer with the LPI somehow managed to shoot down a sympathetic Outcast. We didn't waste time trying to deal with her, of course.
The Gunship managed to shoot down something, too. I'm not exactly sure what this one is, either. It seems that when the Libertonians go crying to their mothers, everyone comes running. I'd say something about illegitimate children if this wasn't an official military report.
We'd had a Navy fighter bugging us for a while by chasing down our Broadswords, so we decided he had become too useful. Have to watch out for that when you wage war against the Legion.
The Mt. Helens was finally taken down at this point, but not by the Legion or its allies - we'd started ignoring it. Its captain actually ran it into Manhattan... I guess being ignored causes suicidal tendencies in some. He should have just committed Sepuku, but I guess he didn't have a sword with him. Ah well.
Another Bounty Hunter! I worked on it for a while, then switched targets when ordered to. I guess my work on it did the trick, though, because the Lord Commander quickly took it down.
Unfortunately, our ally Phate got somewhat careless, and I suffered the consequences. Thankfully, Commander Atheus picked up my escape pod and, after taking down one more enemy, we pulled out. We had inflicted heavy losses while barely taking any ourselves. A tactical and economical victory. Good job, everyone.
