My only question is; when will it end?

The difference is, there are real reasons for this. If someone were to suggest a restriction that there wasn't a need for, it wouldn't get passed.. Notice, I'm offering this up to the community for their decision. In my opinion, there aren't going to be any more legitimate calls for more restriction, as this'll fix the only problem our freedom has created.

Actually, this leaves Zoners with the Omicrons, Omegas, Sigmas, Taus, Independent Worlds, and systems in and around the houses that are -not- controlled by the government, such as Inverness or Coronado.

However, the idea of having too much freedom and making too much money strikes me as being odd from a Zoner perspective. I would think that finding routes with an optimal profit margin would be within role playing parameters. Especially for a faction that lives to trade.

The difference is that the Zoners, as Derkylos' quote shows, left the houses to live in the Border Worlds. Intentionally left the houses so they wouldn't have to deal with them.. Why would they then turn back and go in there again unless absolutely necessary?

By making it Whale only you can simply say that everyone who does not fly a Whale is not a "true" Zoner, allowing other RP opportunities to develop instead of clamping down on Zoners with ID restrictions.

And then what? We have a flood of ZGuard ID'd Adv. Trains and Heavy Tankers flying around, with no RP at all? Sure, we can call them 'fake' Zoners, but what good would that do? We already do that to many of the rule-breaking and OORP ZGuard ID traders and it hasn't fixed anything. If it did, I never would've suggested this.

Restricting the ID will help solve the flood of whales running about, but the power traders will just move on to other ID's. Some will go corporate, which is better and more in RP, some will go junker. They will still be there, just not on Whales.

Yes, powertraders will be around.. But they will be spread out. Plus, they can't change their routes as easily as they could before. You won't be seeing Republican Shipping ID'd transports trading Cardamine for example.. This stands the chance of getting some powertraders to learn to RP their traders, and encouraging those who already know how to RP to do so. Furthermore, it'll eliminate the OORP routes being run. Such as Zoner 5ks running Cardamine to Manhattan.. Zoner 5ks running Gold from Dublin in Bretonia to Kusari.. Etc.

I am still all for the change and agree with dab, although maybe adding cryer and planetform to the list since a main zoner export are Alien Organisms could be added.

I thought about Planetform, but there are plenty of places outside of the houses to transport them. Plus it'd be nice to let Planetform players transport some of those Alien Organisms themselves. PFI has very few routes to run in this version. ZGuard transports can still take it to Ames RS and Planet Harris for a high selling price, or Hudson, Baffin, or Bering for a middle price.
Cryer has only two bases; CRI and Atka. Atka is in the Sigmas, and thus is available. CRI is a fairly restricted station in the first place, outside one of Bretonia's main planets, where they conduct research.. So I don't see Zoners given permission to land on it..
