Well, few details this model can benefit from. I suggest to make some sort of "base" structures from which the nomad skeleton extensions are coming from, as for example those at front, they seem need the "connector" sort of thing between themselves and ship's non-organic hull. Same goes to other things. It can fixed fairly simply by enlarging the base segments which contact with the hull. One more thing: considering extension's size I'd probably suggest to ignore them in hitbox entirely, otherwise it's way too complicated and the asteroids become the worst enemy to this ship.

On a more technical side of things. Nomad textures can be exported of course, like any other texture, except they're embed directly into 3db/cmp models. Curiously the in-game transparency effect, environment mapping and such are hardcoded and triggered by having keyword "Nomad" at the beginning of the material name followed by space and then any other text. Nomad ships aren't in autodesk any format actually, they're 3DB (3D Binary) files, a proprietary model format for Freelancer used for simple 3D objects that do not contain components. CMP (short from "composite mesh" or "component mesh") files which most of you use are actually nothing but composite structures with several 3db blocks in them for each ship component (if there are any). They can be imported back into ms3d like any cmp using cmp importers, and from there on to any other modeling package.
