For some reason, TORPS do no damage at all to Battleships. It's a bug or something. I've seen this happen dozens of times.

They deal damage to gunboats tho..........which they can't hit.

And then also, as mentioned above, you're gonna run out of them in any kind of battle.
And even if you manage to survive, you won't be able to resupply your ship with new ones, because only God knows where they're sold.
And even if you discover one place where they're sold, you'll have to travel across half of the Sirius to get there.
