Sorry Night, but those tests were done by three people in several classes of ships. I'm an AWFUL BS pilot, and I coulds still take one down, although with damage. If you have to drop the shield class, give the thruster back. Otherwise, its just a slow, stunty cruiser with slightly more firepower. Not worth it.
As for the hitbox, yes there are issues. But there are issues with any non-vanilla ship. The corsair dread is one of my favorites on that point, because although certain sections are unhittable, the rest of the hull extends WAY farther than it should around the model, I've owned one for a long time, and it is quite easy to hit if you know the shipclass. I'm not saying taking it out was bad, because its not. Some SW ships fit in, but not that one, and the hitbox was screwey. I'm just saying that some ships thats hitbox are lacking in some areas make up for it in others.
