After searching your thread for the words "Privateer" and "QCP" I have gotten nothing...

But, why would you assist in the destruction of the culture you're looking to reinstate?

Not specifically about privateers and QCP, but about the war, but this.

We want this war to go on for as long as possible. Should Bretonia win the war, we will have trouble fighting them off again to reinstall a direct descendant of Shogun Hideyoshi. Should Kusari win, they will gain more power and resources, making our job many times harder. Therefore, this war must continue. The longer this war goes for, the more advantage we have, as it weakens the current Kusari Empire. Blood Dragons headed for the Leeds system should currently treat both sides as neutral.

The Privateers are kinda like the outcasts - we don't fire on them because they are allied with the outcasts. If we were not allied with the GC, we would kill all of those stupid outcast battleships who venture into Kusari. But seeing as we are allied, we do not. Same reason, really. FA/Hogosha are the pirates who kill the bretonians.
