freelancer idea

hello,

as you can see from my post count in the past year i am mostly a reader, not a poster ( in rl i am also more a listener than a talker).

Exept for a few events that i wrote up i have no experiance with rp storys , so i kindly ask you for advise and feedback.

Also i was thinking of a pact of freelancers tat would work together more often and so can counter small groups of enemies . ( i have to add that the main goal will be escorting traders )

the freelancer would share the same kind of employers so that they would have the same allies, friends neutral and hostiles.

equipment would be:
any civilian ship ship , no big capships but preferrably fighters/Bombers any civilian/zoner/ IMG weapons , no house or police weapons

the freelancer pact would have no base , just launching from freeports and planets or the base of the company that contracted them

please give me some feedback and advice on this and my story below.

The dream

It started when he was looking at a small group of fighters through the windows of a luxury liner. while his Family was moving from the Manhatten to the Texas system . Young Peter Hirsh watched with awe how the liberty fighter wing took flanking positions to protect the Incredible large passenger ship from a few pirates. His heart was pounding when it resulted in a small battle where the pirates took some damage and retreated. He was 10 years old and was doubting his future on a planet like Texas, living a ordinary live till growing old. But after the small battle he withnessed he started dreaming of a future as a pilot. He never forgot that day.

The hard work

Now 10 years later he has followed a civilian flight shool , and was making real money as a courier of small packages on planet Texas. The past years he has looked every week at his hard earned money , waiting for the moment to start his adventure. Although his friends told him that he was chasing a dream that would never work for a average man, he kept working almost day ad night to get the funds for a small ship. Then after another 5 months of hard work the moment was there, he has made enough money to buy a small transport and starts a new system wide transport service.

Hes was already beeing pirated 4 times in one month , wich was a big setback for his amount of credits, he found out that beeing a trader was a hard life. However everytime he got a setback he learned from it , and adjusted his tactics and equipment. As more time passed , Peter soon learned how to avoid pirates in his small ship and succeeded every time in evading them. After months of transporting goods and setting aside some credits, he was now able to buy a small fighter and decided that it was time to fulfill his dreams....

the realisation of his goal

Because he has experianced himself how dangerous and hard a life of a trader captain could be, he decided to provide paid protection for traders, and made it so by offering his services on the Job board in the Planet Manhatten bar.
Because an escort pilot just makes a strike at the attacking pirate to scare it away or just stall him long enough to let his contractor get away, he decides to name his ship Striker. It soon proved to be a profitable business and after several runs he became more and more experianced. he even developed a diplomatic skill to ocasionally make a pirate reconsidder attacking him or his contractor . he did not had that much work , but he was starting to make profit and used the money to upgrade his weapons and bought a heavy fighter.

the start of a alliance

Then he thought of his next step: creating a company of escort fighters would be to much for him, he wanted to be able to fly himself and didnt want to be a paper slave. Also he did not like the thought of such a big responsabillity. After some thought he decided to start a sort of loose alliance of selected freelancers. All would be their own boss , and as long as they work for the same companies . their goal would be the same.

Thinking for a name of the alliance , he used the first that came to his mind he wanted to be special , and wanted to provide services out of the ordinary using his own style.
that is why he called his loose alliance the FSS Freelancer special services. and determines that it will be a group of freelancers that share the same values and ideals. A group of freelancers that if needed can work together on the same job, but also can take on assignments of their own. Their goal would be to make space a little safer, and escorting traders would have priority above all other work. They would not have a base, however they would use the hospitality of their contractors and friends to find a helter to sleep.

Now that he has determined what he wants , Peter started to look around in Bars , looking if he could find the type of person that would be a fine addition for FSS. he has talked with many , but only a few where prepared to form a loose alliance. Knowing that it would be hard , he started leaving advertisements in bars of all major houses that he has visited, waiting for a pilot that would share his passion for escorting and freelancing.
