If you had a "normal" cruiser, you would have his sheild and half his hull down by that time.
2 infernos on him, 2 accurate volleys each, hey presto, his hull is open to battlerazors, provided you have them, (if you have a liberty cruiser, chances are you dont have either of these more mobile guns).
Let me counter your example.
Bretonia gunboat: That has 2 forward guns for killing capital ships. How you hit a fighter with them is beyond me. Because it has such massive anti cap firepower, it sacrifices its general firepower for use against fighters. This means that a single bomber can take it out, rather than taking two bombers with a "normal" gunboat.
If you dont want to be outclassed by a gunboat, unfortunately, you have to buy a "normal" cruiser. However, this means that it will no longer be so easy to take out a battleship. again, its about the balance you want, and your ship's achilles heel is gunboats.
unfortunatly, thats too bad. I doubt, and hope, that no stats are changed as a result of this.
I see your point, but i do believe that it is an imbalanced ship itself. not that i believe the lib cruiser needs to be changed, its good being unbalanced as it is. Superior vs large caps, inferior vs small caps. You trade turret number for a large forward gun.
If you have a diffferent cruiser, he will still be able to take your sheild in 10 seconds, but you will be able to take his in 5.
