Yeah, this is pretty much a case of Peanut making the joke "Zoom" and the point went right by you.

The official factions do not represent all of one kind of player. They may represent a majority of, or a unit of, the generic NPC faction. But - they (and we) don't represent all of them.

For example, I'm one of the BHG| Guildmasters. We have the ability to control what our own members do, due to in RP activities. But if someone wants to become a hunter on their own, they're perfectly welcome to do so as long as they perform, in RP, as a member of the NPC faction would in the circumstances presented. So no docking on Crete or Junker bases with a Hunter ID'd ship.

As for the LPI - I happen to have an 'independant' LPI officer. I work with the official [LPI] tagged members. In RP in game, I simply say that I'm with another precinct. My character acts like an LPI officer would - making arrests, attempting to control contraband, and enjoying his Sunbucks and donuts.

I've also a Liberty Navy Cruiser. The ship isn't [LN] tagged. But she's part of another Cruiser squadron. If I go into battle on the side of the LN, I'll take the orders from the LN commander on scene. But other than that, I'll role play AS a Liberty Navy cruiser because, when I'm in that ship, I AM a Liberty Navy pilot.
