Wouldn't killing off indies. be the rough equivalent to cutting off Discovery's life blood? Sure there are player factions that are directly and indirectly related to the NPC ones, but just because one indie. does something bad does NOT give you the right to go off saying that all indies. are bad, idiots, whatever.

Indies. have, and always will, add to the experience of Discovery. They always bring something new to the table, whether it be new RP, tactics, or even whole new player factions. How do you think something like RoS was started? Or how the various Zoner factions over the time Discovery has been around were created? They were created by people with different ideas who wanted to start something.

Maybe my information is not quite accurate, but as Tenacity just pointed as another example, he went from being independent to starting a whole new faction!

You see, without indies. Discovery would have a hell of a lot less players then it does right now. Not everyone wants to have to conform to the structure (or rules) of an existing faction. People want to be able to choose what they want to do and, as it has been stated before, Discovery is one of the few places that will let you do that and let you interact with other players the way you want to!

In essence, killing off indies. would be the same thing as killing off the server.
