< Location: Evora Shipyard, Omicron-100 System >

Kaylee smiled shyly at the repair teams scattered throughout the Bastet's corridors as she made her way to the bridge. All of them, along with the few ship crewmen that she met, saluted her like as she passed. She was more surprised than any of them that she had been chosen to command the carrier after it's repair and refit at Evora; she had never commanded a ship before, and was younger than any other senior officer in the Order fleet.

Her new XO, Sub-Commander Christopher Bourne, walked beside her, leading her throughout the ship and explaining it's systems. The largest vessel Kaylee had served on prior to this was a Recon Destroyer, hardly bigger than a gunship... needless to say, a full blown carrier was a huge step up. Most of Bourne's comments about the areas of the ship were blocked out, she was ignoring him in favor of admiring the ship itself.

Luckily, her datapad had all the relevant information on the Bastet's refitting. No longer a primary assault ship, the carrier had been converted into an extended operation research and support platform intended to provide stationing for the patrols on the edges of Order space, while exploring that space at the same time.

Location: Bridge

"The Bridge of the Bastet serves as the ship's primary central control structure. It contains four positions operated by the on-shift command Crew."
1. The Commander's Chair: Located at the center of the bridge, this chair seats the Commanding Officer of the carrier. All orders are administered from this location, and the chair has an integrated console system which allows instant visual interface access to nearly all of the ship's systems.
2. The XO Station: Situated to the left of the Commanding Officer, the XO serves as a backup/secondary commanding officer for the ship, and also handles damage control and communications from this station.
3. The Control Station: The control officer's station is located to the right of the commanding officer. From this station, all scanner contacts and sensor readings are tracked. The control officer also serves as an operator for all fighter and bomber pilots operating from the carrier.
4. The Helm: located in front of and to the left of the Commanding Officer, the helm - crewed by the ship's on-shift helmsman - has access to all engine and manuvering thruster controls on the carrier.
5. The Tactical Station: From the tactical station in front of and to the right of the commanding officer, the tactical officer controls all shield, reactive armor, and weapon systems onboard the carrier.

Location: Observation Deck

"The observation deck, also referred to as the Stellar Cartography Lab, houses numerous stellar navigation tools and sensor consoles used to investigate and chart stellar anomalies located throughout Sirius. This room was once the briefing and debriefing room aboard the Bastet, and though it's equipment has changed, it is still often used for that purpose due to the presence of tactical mapping holoconsoles."

Deck One: Upper Level, Aft Section

Location: Officer's Lounge

"The Officer's lounge serves as an off-duty location for Officer-grade personnel."

Deck Two: Mid Level, Forward Section

Location: Launch Bay

"The Launch Bay, located at the front of the Carrier, is the point from which fighter and bomber craft are loaded into, or removed from, the launch tubes which propel them into or retrieve them from space."

Deck Two: Mid Level, Forward-Mid Section

Location: Repair bay

"The repair bay, located just aft of the launch bay, serves as a repair, refit, and armament station for vessels being moved to and from the launch bay."

Deck Two: Mid Level, Forward-Rear Section

Location: Storage Bay

"The storage bay, located aft of the repair bay, takes up a large portion of the Carrier's midsection, and is the area in which fighter and bomber craft not in use are stored. Ammunition and repair equipment for these craft are also stored in this area."

Deck Two: Mid Level, Mid Section

Location: Medical Center

"The medical center, located almost perfectly at the centermost point of the ship to allow quick access from any location within the ship, serves as a treatment facility for all crewmembers aboard the carrier. The medical center contains all the necessary equipment for treating everything from minor injuries through critical surgery and nomad parasite extraction."

Deck Two: Mid Level, Rear Section

Location: Engineering Deck

"The Engineering Deck contains the primary reactor and thrusters for the carrier, as well as the recharge stations for it's onboard AI units and all necessary repair equipment to keep the ship operational. Due to the vitality of it's functions, the engineering deck is also the most heavily armored portion of the ship, and is often used as a refuge in case of shipboard disasters."

Deck Three: Lower Level, Forward Section

Location: Crew Lounge

"The crew lounge, along with the attached crew quarters, is a recreational area for all off-duty non-officer crewmembers aboard the carrier."

Location: Cargo Bay

"The cargo bay, taking up the majority of the lower deck of the ship, serves as a storage location for all supplies needed for the continued operation of the carrier. Everything from food to fuel to raw materials is stored in the cargo bay until needed."
