According to the rumors in Gallia, only a handful of Sirius Junkers knew about Gallia - and at that, it was only the leaders of the Sirius Junkers who knew. Exchanges in technology were made at the edge of the minefield. Further rumors indicate that gallic junkers who were making runs through the minefield to retrieve the goods were not allowed to go far beyond it.

The technology that was brought through from Sirius was not given to gallic civilians either, it was given (or rather sold) to the gallic government. The government then decided how best to use that technology.

So, while the two groups may have similarities and a singular origin, they have been seperated for a long enough time, to a large enough extent, that they should not be using identical ships or equipment.

And once again, as I stated before, Gallic Junkers have far more enemies than Sirius Junkers do. Sirius Junkers have been relying on neutrality and political savvy to protect themselves, while the Gallic Junkers have to deal with gallic criminals coming after them day in and day out. That would lead to more combat-oriented ship development, unlike the smuggling and salvage oriented ships that the Sirius junkers have come to rely on.
