you need to take a scientific look at this.

1. Identify Problem - Problem: Gank squads

Now, here are the presented solutions.

a. Restrict GBs
likely a bad idea since it will simply make everyone lose and complain.
b. log off
logging off does not solve the problem and in fact gives pirates more freedom. Why do you think a corsair can sit in pensylvania outside erie and tax everyone for 10 minutes?
c. GB/Bomber Arms Race
You would need to form a faction that is dedicated to pooling wealth to buy high end equipment. It does not even have to be a faction, just an aggreement.
