New Ships and the need

Each new ship further dilutes the player base, meaning less and less people fly the same ship.

I'm not seeing a problem here. Outcasts fly Sabres, Scimitars, Switchblades - all in the same series, and they usually just use Sabres.. I've seen one Outcast Eagle, and I've flown an Outcast Arrow; with entire ship lines and allied ships to choose from, they still stick with the same series most of the time. Even the same ship in most cases.

But, you and I are from opposite perspectives. I prefer variety.
