Brad and Akira had talked for hours. Akira had discovered that Brad was from Pittsburgh and had worked as a bouncer at a miners bar. He had acquired a loan from one of the local gang bosses, one thing had lead to another and he ended up on Nivertons slave market.

The ships hull vibrated as the slave ship entered Maltas atmosphere. Several of the slaves cried out as the cage gates opened and the slavers forced them out with prods from the stun sticks. Akira gripped Brads hand as they began to leave the cage. The slaves all halted as the cargo bays opened to reveal the orange fields of Malta.

Akiras eyes opened in wonder.

Wow. It looks so beautiful

Sure. It almost-

Brads sentence was cut short as he and the other slaves lost consciousness.
