Should we get Diffrent types of civillian guns?

If the pirates, who have less access to proper research facilities and even less to proper scientists, can make guns to rival the militaries, why couldn't large megacorporations who have everything they need to design new weaponry?

They probably could. The question is would/can they sell them to Civilians, or are they under contract to sell certain manufactured weapons to Military organisations?

Civilians may have come up with such weapons, but you're not going to see every single person carrying one around 'just because it was made by civilians'. Civilians are also reknowned for being considerably poorer than the Government and incapeable of mass producing such weapons in large quantities. Besides, if militaries let Civilians have better weapons than them, it would be difficult to control them.

We could go back and forth all day here, but tell me why does it make sense for a generic, civilian gun be equal to or better than other faction weapons? Personally I think they should all be worse, including ships, to encourage people to use their factions equipment rather than opting for Civilian Tech because it pew pews better. Don't deny it happens, either, because I bet half the people on this server flying Eagles or Rocs can't come up for anything better than a half-baked reason why they're flying it and not their factions' regular ship.

And last time I checked, Mercenaries and Freelancers were green to all police equipment and white to all military equipment on the tech chart. This opens your options as an independant significantly larger than Civi ships and Flashpoints.
