Errant.Ventures ghost, did kill, however...it was more of a game, in which only those that participated became vulnerable.
Kind of like voodoo.
Now....In regards to a ghost ship...Initally I wanted to do that, when I had my scylla, however, it became hard....to do with RP characters staying off your ship.
If they RP a boarding onto your adrift, seemingly harmless, valuable ghost ship, then you could RP the Demise of these characters, on your ship, however you want.
