Why would a group of people, form alliances with those whos ancestors betrayed them? When their hatred for that betrayal has carried on since.
"Just another house" would be too bland. As said earlier, Gallia is a system of its own, apart from Sirius although represented on the Sirius Map (There was something posted about it, but I havent found it recently)
Edit: Now one might ask, if it is indeed another system, why wasnt it discovered until now? In addition to the fact that the minefields were made to look like others found in Sirius not placed by its inhabitants, you have the common thought that "Liberty, Rheinland, Kusari, and Bretonia were the only survivors of the Nomad's attack on Sol" saying that theres no need to even look in nearby systems to see if others may have survived.
