Battleship terror

Alright, i'm making my sorely disappointed yet triumphant return significantly earlier than expected. And for all those that think size matters, Freeworlds has NOTHING over discovery! I got drawn in by my star wars geekery, and turned away by a combination of the same and more. The graphics were amazing, i have to give the guys over at Freeworlds points for painstakingly recreating the star wars universe on a platform that never intended it to be there. Unfortunatly that's where the points end. There was absolutely no scope or sense of dynamic scale to be found. I played for about 8 hours total and worked my way up to what's argued as the best heavy fighter there, with all of the best equipment, and it sucked..... It was barely better than what i started with. To put it back in freelancer 1.0 terms: It was like doing 5 cargo runs and suddenly being handed a fully loaded Sabre with nomad weapons and a class 10 shield... then finding out that a couple of startrackers with lvl 1 liberty lasers can take you out if they so desire. I couldn't justify sticking around there for any longer with no prospect of equipment/ship improvement so here i am again :-)


In closing... Discovery kicks ass!
