Just a question concerning your planned RP: Did you already come up with a background for this mysterious race that is losing against the C'tan? I didn't check Aki's background, but before you start a special RP request this should be done first. Another alien race might be very confusing for other players and I believe that you would receive a lot of "what a lunatic" responses from other characters. I doubt that many would really listen to your story concerning their given RP situation: Sirius is basically at war with itself. Most people wouldn't have an ear for stuff like a galaxy-wide war. However, I do like your idea. It's just hard to imagine it working ingame.
