You all heard what the man said . . And when he said that.. It Was the ENTIRE ADMIN team that made that decision . . . .

Follow his suggestions and MOVE ON !!!!!!! . . .

I, for one, will not. Even though my QCP character(s) are either inactive or currently nonexistent. Even if I wasn't involved at all, I'd still take offense to this debacle.

This sets a very bad precedent. It shows that people bitching and moaning like petulant children when other people do something that they don't like can get things done, just to shut them up. There was nothing hurting server gameplay. There was just OOC whining about in-game stuff which should have been dealt with in-RP or in-game. No rules were broken, except by the side of the whiners. There were flaming PMs sent, not just to the QCP involved, but to people who merely voiced an opinion supporting their actions. It's frankly quite disgusting that people would act this way just because a rather small faction decides that they don't agree with your 'neutral policies', and that you are more enemy than 'neutral'.

To make this even more of a farce, most of the people who complained don't even understand that the QCP do not equal Bretonia, even though it was explained to them over and over again. Anything but the most obvious black-and-white factions just seem to fly over the heads of an awful lot of people.

There are only two other factions who've ever drawn as much forum flames as the Privateers, and those are the Phantoms and the Keepers. But look at what happens whenever people bring up 'issues' with the Phantoms: The threads are almost immediately shut down by Admin-intervention. Nothing gets changed, there's no Admin-enforced peace between the Phantoms and <x faction>. I haven't seen the Keepers ordered to stop attacking Zoners in Delta. But, now that the precedent's been set, all that can't be far off, can it?

The supposed RP'd peace between the QCP and Zoners is, to use the same word twice, a complete and utter farce. We could try and work something out RPly, but it'll be nothing more than a lie, something forced on us by divine intervention. It'll never be 'real', and it's not worth the effort. If the QCP are being forced to make peace, then there'll be no RP involved from me, it'll be just the way it happened: Forced by the arbitrary ruling of the Admin team. Completely OORP, just another senseless rule.

As I've said before, for most of my Discovery career I've had a Zoner, I was even the CoZ Chairperson for a time. My character was wiped a few months back when I was inactive, and I had been meaning to remake him as soon as I got around to making the cash. Well, that's not likely to happen now. The Zoners as a whole are ruined for me, nothing more than a bunch of powertraders and capwhores who whine and cry when someone threatens their precious 'neutrality', despite whatever RP reasoning may have been involved.

Maybe I'll just leave, I've seen the Disco USA server becoming more active, and my lag will certainly be lower. And I won't have to deal with this kind of absurdity.
