Chronicling yesterday evening's events as per Major Tadeo's request. Guncam recordings will follow.
Fleet Admiral LeBlanc, Major Tadao and I mobilized our strikecraft in order to respond to reported sightings of the Liberty Navy's heaviest warship, the LNS San Francisco, in open New York space. As far as I could determine, having been the first Hellfire Legionnaire in the field, the San Francisco and its commander, Captain Seth Karlo, were responding to a Harvester-operated Outcast battleship, Prometheus or Harvester 24, causing mayhem in the general New York area.
An incautious LPI officer let slip the San Francisco's position, namely by Rochester Base; we promptly proceeded there and, amid some amount of confusion caused by various factional presences in the area (the LPI, the LSF, a Zoner Juggernaut, Junkers, criminals, and a Freelancer or mercenary or two were all surrounding the site of the battle), witnessed the LNS San Francisco's destruction and subsequent reactor implosion at the hands (hands, sir?) of the Harvester. Captain Karlo somehow contrived to have himself picked up by the Harvester, rather than going down with his ship, as he'd originally planned.
In the aftermath of the San Francisco's foundering and Captain Karlo's disappearance, chaos reigned in the New York system. We pulled back from the site of the wreck and retreated to a safer forward position, where we split up our forces. Major Tadao decided to pursue a diplomatic course of action and contacted Harvester 24 in an attempt to persuade it to turn Captain Karlo over to the Hellfire Legion. Meanwhile, a large, motley search party consisting of LPI, Liberty Navy, KoF and Freelancer pilots had formed and were attempting to track their kidnapped leader's signal down. At my suggestion, Fleet Admiral LeBlanc and I headed off to eliminate this search party, thus forcing law enforcement agencies to give Karlo up as lost and hopefully strike a blow at their morale.
Following an idea of mine, Fleet Admiral LeBlanc and I set up camp at New York's sector C6, deep in the Badlands, where I sent a false systemwide transmission indicating that Captain Karlo (and his Harvester captor) had retreated here. Justifiably cautious, the search party sent only one of its members, Officer Alexandra Markey, LPI, to investigate - we immediately overpowered her, grappled her fighter's hull, and forced her to broadcast to her fellow searchers that Captain Karlo was indeed in sector C6.
The search party arrived in full force and Fleet Admiral LeBlanc and I proceeded with the killing. It was a slaughter - one law enforcement officer, Fred Jersey, survived, and that only because he had the good sense (or ingrained cowardice?) to maneuver his ship around and flee the moment he caught sight of the two of us. The first to lose her ship, incidentally, was our hostage, Officer Markey - Fleet Admiral LeBlanc and I released our grappling hooks and ordered her to run away, but before she could, her own colleague, LPI Officer Joe Smith, decided, for some bizarre reason, to shoot her down.
Incidentally, sir - this morning, I managed, after a short search, to root out and kill the sole survivor of yesterday's massacre, the Liberty Navy's Fred Jersey, by Fort Bush, thereby wrapping up the search party affair.
Major Tadao managed to fast-talk the Harvester into handing over Captain Karlo while Fleet Admiral LeBlanc and I were disposing of the local law, but it seems the Harvester decided to give the Major Karlo's escape pod and something else besides - the Major lost control of his ship while removing the Captain from the New York system. His ship took him directly over Planet Manhattan, where it, regrettably, ejected Captain Karlo's escape pod of its own accord. It seems the contemptible Captain survived.
