not really - we made sure that we can cancel the treaty with all its consequences at any time.
that would mean that bretonia could revise their decision to officially recognize the planet - they could even stage an invasion there.
BUT - the point is.... its not necessary. - zoners and bowex get along pretty well ( bowex as in the bret goverment for that matter )
no one threatens the treaty. - but if something threatens the treaty - would it be beneficial for the bretonian goverment? even IF it could claim reparations and all?
the point is - bretonia wants port jackson, not reparations. and with the future prospects - bretonia would probably want a bit more - and a good political standing is a prerequisite.
its better to haggle for what you want than to fight for it. and fighting is something that ll become very .... common ... in bretonia - and so its better to fight only one battle and not more. - when bretonia is being pushed it would be a relieve for the goverment to achieve "better conditions based on a good political standing" than to invade gran canaria by force.
war is the last diplomatic way to solve a need ( pronounce the term "last" ) - any other means are preferred.
but even if zoners would NOT threaten to cease the treaty - the basic question stands. - is it beneficial for the crown if the QCP adds pressure? does the QCP still act as patriots then?
a little example there:
the romans invaded what is nowadays france. - they murdered hundreds of thousands.
decades later, maybe centuries. - france has prospered and the roman empire became what is known as italy.
france has an economical need - so they contact italy and they both come to a very lucrative treaty that benefits both sides.
a group of french "patriots" shows up and *reminds france of the genocide committed by the romans "back then"* and starts to fight italy, which they recon are decendents of the romans and so responsible for their actions.
sadly - no matter how or why, italy considers these "troublemakers" to be some sort of terrorists financed by french parties, NOT the official ones, but some private french underground network.
they ask france to cease the attacks - both, the verbal as well as the violent attacks.
what will france do? - france might promise to fight them and do nothing. - but france is the one that wants the treaty. - so italy puts more pressure on it - and so france realizes that what these patriots really do is sabotage THEIR ambitions to reach a peaceful treaty.
this example is lacking. - but it demonstrates the point of "how beneficial can a group be, how beneficial has it got to be and what must be done until a group of people becomes "irresponsibe" to keep for a country"
