Unfortunately it seems that it takes only one side to fail to role-play a response before the hammer comes down. I can't see why one side should get the rough treatment because of a lack of reciprocal role-play.

If people think that sending PM's can influence the game, then why bother with rules?

If someone breaks rules and gets reported for it, then they should get punished or not, depending on whether or not they broke the rules.

If no one is breaking any rules, then why do they merit a warning?

If people can't role-play, then why bother playing on a role-play server?

I don't agree entirely with the "you brought it on yourselves" argument. Many changes to the game are imposed upon people. A few threads on the forum has been enough to radically alter the gameplay in previous cases without any consideration for the people who would be most affected by it.
