Hannah, I, and the crew of my ship have just returned from an investigation of this so-called Zoner situation. I have much bad news to report.
First of all, the place near this "Gran Canaria" is full of Corsairs! The planet itself seems nice, though - they certainly have good taste in location, if not company. In fact, one of them appeared drunk and struck at Ludwig while we were there talking to some nice freelancers! Many were also flying around, and a nearby Molly patrol said they have been moving there in some kind of alliance.
As far as food goes, the planet did appear to have the ability to grow quite a good deal of fresh crops. However, they also sold lots of Synth Paste, at a location just a stone's thrown from a vast debris field. We speculate this is where they build their so-called "Zoner biodomes".
The strangest and most disturbing part, though, was a very massive ship that we ran into. It had a variety of nomads in its hold, but claimed to have enough nuclear warheads to blow them anyway if need be. "An effective radius of 20km"! That could cause serious harm to a planet - I suggest we make sure to keep it away from Planet Stuttgart
But worst of all was the fact he appeared to be a slaver of some sort. Not only did he have slaves, which he cleared up were, in fact slaves, but he claimed "I'd get more profit from killing them now and selling their organs". If that is how these Zoners are, I suggest we remove them from space and let the Kanzler try them for some sort of crimes against humanity. Or perhaps such Red Hessian justice? He even refused two million credits each for us to liberate them. We threatened them with our tachyon guns, but against such a huge ship it didn't work. The captain just scoffed!
That is my report. Unfortunately, I have no other option than to conclude this is clearly a hostile and barbaric group. They are supposed to be quite varied, so perhaps there is some hope for future relations, but as of now, things will surely be sour.
