Got scammed... is it illegal

I've read all da posts.
Anyway, yeah what happens if the trader demands 10mil for a 9mil run? Why should I pay? Yes for the sake of RP but don't forget piracy happens so often here I might as well be trading for peanuts. Or the cargo pirate who demands ALL your stuff. I talked to him, tried to rp with him like any ordinary pirate but still got blown up. I even offered him 2mil (a lot for that route I was doing, bout a third my profitz and I was only 2 jumps out).
