I'm not sure where you got the friendly/allies/failed to mention them parts from. Maybe you were reading another thread?
Last time I checked the official standings, listed on the official faction posting and the first page of this feedback thread we had them listed as neutral. Which makes sense to me as I wrote it.
I use "we" loosly here, as I am no longer in the XA. But I'm 98% sure Tanker will forgive me for bringing the historical viewpoint to the table.
The neutral standings with the phantoms began as one of those age old things. Long before the XA existed, or even the SOL I imagine, the Phantoms were employing Xeno bases and weaponry etc. Much like the SCRA would eventually come to do.
Fast forward to today.
The Phantoms essentially perform three tasks that we find favorable.
1) They shoot the same people we shoot.
2) They distract the hell out of the law while they're doing it.
3) They do not shoot us while they're doing it.
On the long agenda list for the Xenos making enemies with a mysterious group of dangerously armed individuals whom possess a historically neutral standing that long pre-dates our wings tenure is somewhere on line with bathing or learning the Kusari tea ceremony.
It is worth noting that the Xeno movement is, to be brutally honest, a much more well known group of horrid, dangerous blokes who commit far greater acts of violence on a much larger scale than the occasional probings of a few Phantom slayers looking to stir up the nest in core space and rank much much higher on the ladder of public awareness.
