John's escape pod launched from the ThunderBay just as a volley of fire hit the ship. His pod was packed full of crew members, among them was Sharon the ship's CMO. She was busy tending to a wounded ensign, and he was busy piloting the pod away from the battle.

Through his window he watched as the ThunderBay sped towards the Nomad battleship when all of a sudden an explosion rocked the ship, destroying one of its engines. With the lack of control the ship began a slow turn, narrowly avoiding the nomad battleship.

The ThunderBay's core pulsed, the overload near critical when an overlooked safety feature activated. The ship automatically engaged its jump drive, jumping out of the system. The nomad ship shuttered from the shock waves of the newly formed jump hole that the ThunderBay created. Its Bio hull strained against the pull until part of it gave way. Chunks of the massive creature were sucked into the jumphole.

The creature began to drift, most of its drive section destroyed... before it could come to a stop, it exploded in a brilliant flash.

John shielded his eyes for a second, then frantically scanned for Jess's pod... he found it drifting 500m from where the blast had occurred. It seemed damaged.. but there was nothing he could do. Proximity alarms began to sound, just as a large shadow appeared over his pod. The Anubis had arrived, and begun picking up escape pods. Unfortunately, Jess's pod was gone before they could reach her.

The ThunderBay itself had survived the jump and was found by an Order Recon ship who had tracked the jump. She was now being towed to Omicron 100 by the Anubis while they frantically searched for Jess's where abouts.
