I just (rightly) accused the monkeys of not belonging in Freelancer's RP, since they're only there as a (not particularly funny) joke anyways. I'd rather not see Discovery's RP become a (not particularly funny) joke.

However, if that is too much for the moderators to deal with, then... well, it doesn't look like many people are actually trying to RP them. Again, I do not know modding to the fullest extent that I should to give any advice, but just tumbling around a potential idea O-o

Also, Kemira, what you speak of is a case of Acceptable Break From Reality, mainly the faster-than-lightspeed, as breaks from reality are usually needed to make games fun for a vast majority of players.

Monkey people, in FREELANCER, are not an acceptable break from reality, as it was thrown in as a joke and not for major gameplay reasons. If it was a seriousl addition, then that would be something. It was not, however!
[Note: no, monkey people are not 'inherently funny' and the joke was more of a "Hah, look at those crazy devleopers" moment. If the devs of the storyline want to add a more realistically made new race then fine, but I doubt they would be a ruling force in FL and who knows what cultural differences from humans that would exist!
