Why this witch hunt?

Honestly, clamping down on the Battleships has always been the 'cool' thing to do in Discovery but it is also the most retarded a lot of the time. I've seen more people driven by simple jealousy or 'He shotted me up!' saying yes to this sort of thing before than anything else.

Can we not just..leave it alone? There is no perfect solution, no matter how hard you look for it.
Discovery use to be fantastic for the freedom you had. Things have slowly but surely got worse and worse in that regard. The number of rules is a testament to that, something that even the Admins don't like.

Please, can we just stop trying to find things to complain about and then nerf? Can we not just..play the damn game?

EDIT: And if you see OORP battleships every time you play, you must be one of them. No amount of forum roleplay is going to force people to roleplay properly ingame. Forum posts and roleplay ingame are not the same.
