Well, I decided sleep was for the tactically unprepared last night and spent a fair bit of time working on some basic ideas for Aussie factions. So far, I came up with four good ones (and a lot of throwbacks). I'll give ya more detail when I get home after school tonight, but here's a couple of sentences about each.

ANZAC: Techincally 'BAF Auxillaries', this is an Australian and New Zealand military faction allied with the BAF in the war against Kusari. Therefore, we'd operate in Bretonnian space and the Tau systems. Military only, there wouldn't be any 'nation' here...just a bunch of Aussies with guns.

BUSHRANGERS: Illegial Aussie faction that puts such a high value on freedom it's almost an anarchy. Operating wherever the hell they want, with minimal organization, this is basically a tag that Aussies can put in front of thier name.

Australian Seperatist Movement: Legal movement seeking the separation of Australia from Bretonnia and the establishment of an Australian Nation in its own right. Still friendly to Bretonnia, they are seeking separation by legal and political means...though they are building up an armed force for defence purposes and to help against Kusari. Operates mostly in the Dundee system.

Australian Labour Party: Basically, this is the Australian Seperatist Movement declared illegial by Bretonnia. Like the Mollys, they seek independance and are not afraid to fight for it...but unlike the Mollys they are unwilling to use piracy and other unscrupulous methods to achieve thier goal. Operates mostly in the space between Dundee and Magellan.

Thoughts/Ideas?

EDIT: It is completely feasable for the Faction to start off as one of these, then become another. For example:
After scoring victories against KUSARI, the ANZAC become politically active and want thier own nation - They have now become the ASM. Bretonnia does not like this one bit, and after strained diplomatic relations decides to declare the ASM an illegial organization and attempts a crackdown. The ASM is now the ALP. Then, the crackdown succeeds and the ALP disintegrates. It has now become the Bushrangers.

NEEDS MOAR EDIT:
From what I can see, the easiest Faction by far to set up would be the Bushrangers, since it has little to no organization. The hardest by far would be the ASM. My personal reccomendation is that we start off with ANZAC and see where it goes from there. If we get the hang of it and decide to go political, it'll be far easier to form a Government if we already have a decent-sized faction and our own fleet going, yes?

Hmm I whole heartedly agree with the anzac auxillary to baf I have only ever seen one baf officer on the server. hehe makes me kinda think the Kusari have won the war Bretonia going to hell in a hand basket.

Now if there is a labour party I would reckon there would be a liberal party as our politics go they are the only to peoplle that really get to windge at each other an fight it out.

To be honest we aren't like America we didn't really have the whole fighting for freedom Britain was like a kind of doting parent to us that slowly let us walk on our own two feet when we were ready. It should be a peaceful transition over to a complete seperate nation maybe in dundee we should stay very good allies with our parent an most definitely help her in the war. The whole you attack our parent we will attack you an vice a versa. We could have the governing parties the liberal an labour which could be naturally a lawful factions. The Anzac could be our military. Maybe just have our Federal police as a police force. We can have Rio Tinto doing mining operations who can pump resources into our nation an bretonia make us like a complete lil self sustained nation like we are doubt the kusari would get to us hehe an if they did im sure we would run em out town hehe or I know the sandgropers would (there is a reason our land is girt by sea keeps most people to lazy to come visit with a military force.)

Bush rangers would be nice but the amount of time I have nearly lost my head from pirate incidents is tremendous so im not neccesarily keen on the less than legal activity hehe Good ol Ned an his metal box helmet.
