Battleship idea to stop widespread use and make them more powerful at the same time

Stating my opinion: Capships have their own role. Capital ships are just another sort of ship - no different than a light fighter, heavy fighter, gunboat, bomber, transport, whatever.

In my opinion, battleships should not be overpowered, but they should not be underpowered. At the moment, you can't kill fighters with battleships, and they can't kill you. Bombers are really for killing capships - but if you have enough escorts you should be able to take them - and no capship should, in RP, exist without escorts.

There is of course, no such thing as an absolute in discovery. There is no absolute win, there is no absolute uber-pwnage ship. There are just ships - each with their different usage. No capital ship pilot is any different from a fighter pilot. No capital ship pilot is different from any civilian. In fact, most of the time, the capships are taking commands from the fighters.

If you want to have power, you earn it with respect. If you want to have power, you earn it with being a good person. If you want to have power, you don't do it this way.
