As far as I can tell the whole point behind the recon cruiser is stealthy reconnaissance... right? its not meant to be a fighting ship, just a scout. a very heavy duty scout and one that can hold its own until backup arrives but a scout nonetheless. As such maybe it should have a more stealthy appearance. Like the hathor gunboat but not quite. I like the more satelite dishes idea but I think it should also be a bit more smooth to symbolize stealth.
Also it could to without a bunch of fishing boat like antenna arrays IMO... maybe replace those with dishes.

Something like the Zoner Destroyer, I like the idea of more tech exchange too... The smooth sides of it could be portrayed as scanner escaping... and then the thin strip in the middle with the bridge and such could have all sorts of scanner dishes sticking out of it... It could be a shorter thinner and overall smaller version of the destroyer with a more streamlined model like the gunboat.

The newer shape would be easier to mix up with an asteroid or other rock floating around than the current model adding to the overall stealthy feel. The more identifiable armor plating would also double as an extra radiation proofing, so that it could scout out more inhospitable systems.

Overall more hathor like sounds good, but more smooth and stealthy sounds more like a recon cruiser to me, something similar to the zoner destroyer. Now how to fit that in with the rest of the Order ship line may be a challenge but if you RP it as another tech exchange with the Zoners it should be fine.
