Might as well dispense with the pleasentries. You can call me Loki. I'm sure you can fill in the blanks for my real name. At least, if you're competent you will. Lord knows the LSF will never figure it out, but that's another story. A story you might be interested in is how I got my name. Well, its pretty simple. I've been known to cause a lot of havoc and mischief, so I thought the name fit me pretty well.
I was a low level programmer at some small when I was approached by Ageira to work for them. It was decent enough pay raise, so I went along with it. They promised me a career, riches, you name it. They would've promised me my own soul if they needed to. Needless to say, I found myself just another number in a massive company. It was dreadfully dull work. You basically found yourself cleaning up other people's mistakes for very little in terms of real compensation. Sure, they paid you on time, but you always had this feeling like you were wasting your time. Like you were being used.
It wasn't long after I happened to be passed up for promotion because the uncle of some screwup is a higher up. That was the final straw. So, as any realist would, I started seeking other work. Something a little different approached me, however. Something that wanted me to stay right were I was. I became a mole. I never knew his name. His messages were so well hidden I could only pinpoint the system the source originated in - Magellan. But I didn't really care. He paid well and on time. And all I had to do was upload a virus or trojan here or there or download manifests every once in a while. For a man of my skills, I could have been doing this for years right under Ageira's nose. Until things got too hot, that is.
About two years into my side business, Ageira started catching on. Rather than go through the time and money intensive process of an investigation, they simply fired my entire department. It was easier for them to replace everyone than to weed out the bad. I felt bad for the other people, but they were wallowing in misery just as much as me. But I wasn't going to let things slide so easily.
I faked myself an ID and using my ill-goten funds bought myself a Starflier and refit it at the Junker base at Rochester. But not before I finished my last bit of business with Ageira. I took off to Detroit Munitions and lo and behold, my old ID still worked. I didn't even need to hack their primitive security system. Making my way down to the storage facilities I transferred an Advanced Stunpulse and took off. That's where things got interesting.
A Xeno raid had just about begun its attack on the station, and they assumed I was one of their employees. It was their 3 ships against myself. I managed to take one down, but my ship started taking hits, so I went evasive and tried to lose them in the debris fields. Then, I ran into a Rogue patrol. I thought I was mince meat, but they instead helped me out. Seems they hate Xenos enough to ignore me. They even offered Buffalo Base as a place for me to refit. That's when I got the full story.
When I got closer to Buffalo, an encrypted message got to me. It was my old contact. Turns out, the Rogue patrol that saved my hide was entirely his doing. I owed him my life. He also sent me the instructions, and I have followed them to the tee. I'm uploading all the necessary proof. I always figured you were the ones handling me while I was at Ageira but I could never prove it. I'm just glad you took notice of my abilities.
