Hypothetical Scenario: Pirating for cash is no longer done

If this is done, there need to be defined limits as to how much can be demanded from them to keep the fines closer to 2 to 5 million loss for the trader.

We do NOT need limits on what a pirate can demand. I don't see anyone arguing about how much contraband the lawful militaries/police in the houses can demand of a smuggler ... do you? If you apply it to one ... you apply it to all. If you loose all your cargo then you might wanna reconsider the route you're traveling on. Smugglers loose EVERYTHING when they encounter the law ... why should lawful traders be exempt from this risk?

I only make about a million per run...

A) Buy a bigger ship

B) Find routes less travelled


If you're in a small freighter, most pirates just ignore you. Pirates usually go after the big prizes ... transports that make 10 mil in a single trip (or maybe round trip) are usually the targets we seek.

Then again ... consider this ... I usually only demand 500k (in credits) from transports and about 100k (in credits) from freighters. If we go to cargo only ... I'm gonna demand whatever I can carry in my holds from the transports and might (maybe) just leave you freighters to the smaller pirate vessels.
