Well, not of necessity. The jumpgate technology opens a wormhole/Einstein-Rosen Bridge wo another point. The universe between doesn't matter, because the spavetime gets folded together. This should have resulted in two dark matter waves: one in Texas and one in California. But not in Pennsylvania, as it is light years away from both points.
