' Wrote:Miller, i have yet to see a camship slotsaver either. Put a flhook then, idle ships, without movement or chating get kicked. Easy enough.
Of course you haven't - Because currently the cameraship has a hitbox as everyother ship. If a "ghostship" is met in the game, it can be destroyed just like any other ship. AFK on disco, doesn't mean "Away From Keyboard", but "A Free Kill".
The moment you introduce a ship that cannot be destroyed by other players, which you do by introducing a ship that has no hitbox, it will be abused.
"Aha..." the appearently smart reader then says, "The admins can kick him then, so when I see a Camera ghostship without a hitbox , I just get hold of an admin". Right, lets make another workload for the Admins, just to make sure they get even less time to actually play the game themselves. If we are lucky, they might even leave disco in disgust, so we never get sanctioned anymore..."
(Irony used in the above paragraph)
And again, if the non-hitboxed cameraship comes into existance, it can by the nature of the gamemechanics be flown inside a planet, negating the chance for the above smart reader to even see it, so he could report it to the admin. There's ample space inside a planet to circle around at low or even high speed, without ever coming outside the planet, thereby negating any possibility of an FLhook idlekick.
So again, the easiest solution is still : Fly the cameraship better. Have situational awareness. Set up a line of flight that looks clear, thrust and switch to Turret View, you get more dramatic and cinematic footage that way, as well as a better chance of seeing what is around you, so you can switch directions if you see a possible collision situation happening.
Look at the gallery of screenies I but up on the http://bhg-screens.orgfree.com/ site, from the Battleslot 11 event sunday the 23'rd of august. I didn't participate, since it was a capship only event, but I went to take screenies. I had no collisions, and I got some good screenies. The same procedure as outlined above would work equally as well with fraps video recording.
