The Primary use I find for Flak Turrets is killing NPC CAp ship patrol groups. You hit the battleship with a few flak rounds, and the radius destroys all the turrets on all the ships in the Battlegroup. Pretty effective. Also, if you pair up one or two with some missle turrets, they become dealy agaisnt figthers as well. Fire a salvo into the approaching NPC patrol, the missiles will hit the ship and the radius from the missle will deonate the flak. Basically all the NPCs will die instantly. SOmetimes your loot will die as well unfortunatly.
