Alot of stuff doesn't make sense, I just go with credit chips for cash, and credit cards for Neuralnet transactions.
I think Agiera designed the Neural Net system, pirates eventually got their hands on through piracy I guess. Its possible there was only a single currency before the exodus from Earth, I mean, in today's world China has already suggested using a single currency, so its possible 'Credits' could date back from Earth.
If not, we pirates got their hands on them, through, well, piracy.
