Adding another step to the process, bad idea. All this is going to do is frustrate people and make them whine more. I'm certainly going to be annoyed by it somewhere along the line.

Actually it doesn't do all that much if you sort it out right. What it does do is stop folks buying a ship they shouldn't buy with an improper ID. One of the overriding principles is to reduce the number of sanctions we do. Beacuse despite the fact it's our job to process them prevention is a damn sight better than punishment.

Also folks like ships, so how much fun is it to go out buy a ship then be told you can't fly it so you've got to sell it? This is a game after all and if we can make these minor rules unbreakable without effort then most of the folks who break them by accident, or simple dint of not knowing, don't get whacked by the big punishment stick. Infinitely preferable to the alternative.

That shouldn't be massively affected if you're using the BW line or civ ships. Using faction specific ones will require you go through the set-up I mentioned earlier. Had the FL rep still been the singular pain in the backside it was in 4.84 it is highly likely this would not be in place.
