Here's what I see happening.
Pirate transport cruises to catch up to DSE freighter that is thrusting after being hit with a CD.
Transport drops out of cruise, and cannot fire guns on account of no energy. Freighter thrusts away again.
Transport has to enter cruise again. Rinse and repeat.
So cruising in a gunboat or transport to catch a fighter, freighter, or bomber is pointless. Not sure what this would be like for a large capital with extended weapons range. We will just have to try it and see, I guess.
