Alright.. At first, it started fine. The guy switching ships is okay as long as he wasn't engaged at the time, and the two ships were related (like if I switched from an AW fighter to an AW bomber when I saw an enemy battleship enter).

The first wrong here would be when Ryoken docked in the system. Its all Corsair bases, and doing what you did is a punishable offense, which you just admitted to doing.

About the Corsair BS undocking and firing again; If he undocked and fired AFTER you had docked and undocked yourself, it would be classified as a new fight. If he fired on you before you docked, than yes, he violated the rules of engagement. Though he did already apologize for this.

@Thomas; Even if you were killed by your own missiles, you still DIED. No matter how you die in a fight, you are out for the duration of the fight. Heck, you could hit an NPC with a Nuclear mine, end up getting killed by the blast, and still you would not be allowed back in the fight. As the thread's name is; Dead is dead, once you are dead, you stay dead until the battle is over.

@Knucklehead; There is no time limit between battles. Once one battle is over, both sides can engage again immediately.
