True, but Magellan is patrolled by Liberty and Bretonian vessels, and the NPCs do ask for contraband. IMO SA is justified to ask for contraband in Magellan within the range of the Liberty patrols.

Firebird Im not sure we really should be going down that road. That would mean that Magellan would effectively be splitt into 3 "spheres of influence" with the SF in the west (around the Manchester JG and around the BAF controlled trade lane) the SA to the East (around the Cali JG and LN controlled trade lanes) and the HF to the north (around Mactan and the vespucci JH) Then of course if there was ever an incident a flame fest would no doubt follow as to whos zone the incident took place in and therefore who's fault it was. Then of course if it happens in one "border system" then it can happen in all the others (Hudson, Kepler etc)
TBH those systems i dont really care about but if a new pirate faction tried to start up as the Unioners (for example) then they would find it difficult to set up because the independant systems around rheinland would be carved up into zones of influence belonging to lawful factions and they would no doubt have problems operating there.

But it would also mean that the house factions would technically be able to increase their spheres of influence into some of the Taus, omegas and Sigmas (as some of them are also "border systems") That is where i would have a problem as those are the real neutral/ pirate space and no house faction should have any presence there.

Also if the lawful factions are allowed to call the shots around there patrol paths outside their systems then so can the other factions. The GoR would technically own Beta as well as certain slices of teh Taus, TBH as corsairs would have a lot of zones in the omegas because of the corsair patrols and bases. And opf course the AW would technically be allowed to enforce their law around Freeports and zoner patrol routes and as we all know they are all over sirius. Do you want that? No you dont, i dont even want that (bit of a bugger to enforce laws in some of those places)

Now you gotta remember if a lawful faction is allowed to enforce laws outside their house just because their is an NPC presence (in the form of patrols) then all factions can too (lawful or not) And as I've tried to point out that would lead to madness!!:crazy:

I know it's all speculation but i've been here long enough to know that something like this would no doubt happen so i say we drop it before someone gets an idea
