Liberty is neither Canada nor the United States. While the names of their ships take from locations on old Earth, the countries no longer exist. "LNS" stands for Liberty Navy Ship... i.e., a ship in the Liberty Navy. "HMS" stands for "His/Her Majesty's Ship", referring to Bretonia's ruling monarch. "LCS" for Liberty Canadian Ship makes no sense because Canada does not exist in Sirius, nor would the Liberty Navy spontaneously change naming prefixes like that. "LNS-Toronto" would be fine, as it has the existing ship prefix "LNS" and the ship itself is named after a location on Earth from whence the people aboard the Liberty Sleeper Ship originated.
