Lieutenant Chambers was an LPI investigative detective on planet Houston, husband of Cynthia Williams and father of David Chambers. His position as detective was largely dictated by the influence of the Grin drug cartel, of which he was a member. His primary duties were to serve as a deterrent to legitimate lawful inquiries in addition to ensuring that what fire the law might occasionally bring would be directed at cartel rivals.

Bruce was gunned down his partner, Joshua Standhope, following his attempt to establish a business relationship with a rival dealer.
Officially he was recognized as fallen in the line of duty.

Initially rewarded to Bruce Chambers from his dealer'€™s stable as a reward for upstanding service and was rewarded in turn to Joshua Standhope following the death of Bruce Chambers. The sequential death of both men left a taint of ill fortune associated with her name and she was left to be swallowed by the world outside of the compound.

Lieutenant Standhope, like David Chambers, was an LPI investigative detective and partner of the same. His determination to rid himself of the unwanted burden of his ex-partner's son triggered the series of events which would ultimately culminate in the fire march and David's flight from society.
He was one of the several dozen offers to lose their lives during the fire march.

[color=#FFCC99]The leader of the Grin Cartel, a loose confederation of drug runners and distributors working through the lower Houston aqueduct systems. Infamous as much for its tradition of brutal abduction and impressment of drug mules as its practice of delivering to rival gangs throughout warzones with the same.
Renowned as much for his genius business acumen as for the psychotic personality traits that demanded wariness from allies and enemies alike, Grins played a role in Chamber's life which would ultimately prove to shape who he would become far more than either of his previous fathers.

[color=#FFCC99] Samantha Wellgood was a Denver native whom met Chambers in college, majoring in chemical neuroscience with an emphasis on behavioral conditioning through chemical stimulation on a joint scholarship sponsored by Cryer and the LPI. 



Though their mutual majors, and socio-economic classes, vastly differed the two were quartered in the same dorm complex and often found themselves in one another'€™s company. Samantha was initially drawn by Chamber'€™s apparent '€˜exciting'€™ past and the intrigue of the same, Chambers by something deeper.

She hadn'€™t counted on an accidental pregnancy, any traditional escape from which would have clashed with her strict Catholic upbringing. Following their graduation they were wed and remained on Denver until the birth of their son, Allan Chambers. Soon after they were both transferred, their mutual immediate futures owned by the companies which had sponsored them through school, to their first postings. Chambers to Manhattan for a teaching post in the slums, Samantha to execute trial exercises of a number of drugs designed to supplant chemical dependency on those drugs deemed illegal in addition to inhibiting aggressive tendencies in the the subject.

Samantha and Allan'€™s lives were taken in a senseless raid by a number of street punks, laboring under the mistaken presumption that the Chambers residence, the source of the drugs Samantha was known to be administering to volunteers, also contained a number of the drugs to which they were addicted.

Following their deaths their bodies were shipped back to the Wellgood residence on Denver. David was not permitted to attend the private service on the Wellgood estate.

[color=#FFCC99] Born within an LPI compound in one of Houston's many economic zones, regions of extreme economic poverty with population groups largely dedicated to serving local "social service" factory complexes, Chambers lived the life of the destitute slave classes without being immersed in it. His home life being one demanding a different breed of survival.

David's father, Bruce Chambers, was killed very early in his son's life at the hand of his partner following a drug deal gone bad. His partner, Joshua Standhope, claimed David's mother for himself marrying her some weeks later. He had little use for his inherited step son and intentionally enrolled him in a primary school located outside of the barrier, assuming the that natural rules of the environment would remove the boy from his life.

The ultimate result of this chain of events would be David's partial exile into the world beyond the LPI security zone. Attempting to find space for himself with a hated badge of LPI affiliation to his name, with none of the protection provided, his survival during these years was attributed almost entirely to his ability to perceive the strongest social element and find a means by which to integrate himself with it.

In this manner he fell into the ranks of a gang loosely patronized by the Xeno movement. An organization who would eventually call upon him to perform an affirming service in exchange for the security they provided, and through this security his life.

This affirming service would eventually reveal itself to be the plotting of a major terrorist attack, which would later come to be known as the fire march; where the very signs carried by a group of protesting citizens detonated under the feet of advancing riot control officers, reducing several blocks to rubble and claiming the lives of dozens of LPI personnel.

His escape in the ensuing chaos came at the cost of his friend and patron, Allan Rolanski, who was gunned down by pursuing LPI officers. Chamber'€™s own escape took him into the largely abandoned aqueduct systems which fed the dumping needs of the hydrocarbon plants of the region, in which he found himself captured and held in bondage by agents of the Grin Cartel, for whom he would work as a runner for many years.

Chamber'€™s time with the Grin Cartel was, in many ways, redefining. His dual citizen status as an LPI whelp living on the outside was supplanted with one of belonging, an ideal that his unspoken ethos of clinging to the nearest life raft was well suited. The old plan of association with the local Xeno movement forgotten as soon as his new circumstances became evident, he threw himself into his new life with a fervor.

The aqueducts and lower plains of Denver were a bizarre land, the byproducts of the local hydrocarbon and fertilizer city/factories had created a legacy of native and imported foliage as dense as the environment was poisonous. The dark psudo jungles serves as the proving grounds of competing drug distributors who would employ the dense landscape of the plains and city spanning aqueduct canals to evade lawful patrols and interdictions. These arteries of distribution would serve as intense battle zones between distributors and their runners, runners who were often bystanders such as Chambers who were thrust into the position of death facing on both sides.

Chambers flourished in both the environment and the role, in a career where a dozen runs was considered no small feat he went beyond the role of survival to one of active hunting. Learning the routes and mannerisms of competing groups with the aim of clearing the path for the Grin Cartel'€™s greater success in a region where it had long been considered an underdog. These achievements did not go unnoticed. Within the year Chambers found himself risen from the ranks of the expendable to those of the Cartel proper, functioning as a run coordinator and ambassador in exploring new markets.

These years of adolescents left many scars. Many of which did not stand out against the brutality of the environment. The brutality of the life, the violence it demanded and the lack of humanity enjoyed in the life of the captive turned captain left marks of deep bitterness and a warped view of life.

By his nineteenth birthday he had been living the life of a slave turned slaver, drug runner turned peddler, pimp and murderer for half a decade. He was marked in every way by the experience, from the slave tattoos adorning his body to the deep wells in his soul. The more visible of these marks would come to save his future, however, when his camp was raided by the LPI.

The raid was coordinated and swift. The Cartel had grown successful enough to warrant extermination from the major players in the local drug syndicates, and so they had called in their enforcers. The police, operating under the motives of a publicity raid to rescue bonded persons and arrest the trafficking slavers who moved them. Chambers was mis-identified as a slave during the crackdown, what would have been his arrest turned instead to a rescue, one he allowed to happen with no small fear. His future uncertain once he was identified, the sight of his fellows being gunned down where they stood was enough to assure him that a moment'€™s reprieve was an escape from certain death, but the assurances of gentle treatment once his identity and doubtless association with the firemarch left little comfort in his new bondage. He had no way of expecting the reception he would find.

When the patrol craft lifted his old life shed itself as quickly as the one before, and no less violently. However the reprieve from one doom manifested itself in a wholly unexpected way. Rather than the certainty of the gallows the positive identification of his person informed him that he rated the condolences and sponsorship of the child of an officer fallen in the line of duty.

His step father, killed during the Fire March which Chambers played an instrumental role in orchestrating, was given full honorable mention along with every other officer who had lost his life that day. As such the fallen rated special compensation for those left behind, of which Chambers, not identified as suspect, was intended to receive. A corporate sponsored education and a corporate sponsored job. Both off world.

Chambers accepted without hesitation. Within 27 hours of the initial assault on the Grin encampment he was off world and bound for Colorado.
