Ghosts of the Past...

A blast of light lit up the sky, a dark form sliding into existence in space. The Oblivion. The proud and powerful flagship of the Phantom Empire.

More like puppets the words popping into Luciaden's head. He couldn't help but let contempt roll through him.

He looked again at Raf'el. Much like this one.

"Well my little lab rat, seems like we will have to end this party rather soon doesn't it?" Luciaden said as he flicked his sword, droplets blood flying off the blade.

Raf'el grasped the handle of his pure-silver blade. Sliding it out of its holder. The black handle connecting to a pure-silver blade. A hand guard of 4 spikes, two inner and smaller ones, then another larger one to the side of each, giving the blade 5 'tips.' The sound of metal sliding on its holster broke the silence.

Raf'el brought his sword in front of him, in an on-guard position. The tip reaching up to the level of his nose.

"Now come my little test rat, and meet your death."

Raf'el flew himself at Luciaden in the blink of an eye, a blur of muscle and anger. A loud ringing noise erupted into the silence, vibrating through the air. The Crystal and Metal blades slamming into each other. The Ting from crystal, and clanging of metal.

The two exchanged blow after blow, blocking the strikes of the other. Strike and counter-strike, they fought with fury and the pain of betrayal. Raf'el cocked his arms back, and swung with all the power his arms could provide. Luciaden attempted to block the blow, but his sword was knocked aside. Luciaden spun to stay clear of Raf'el's blow. Bringing his sword back in front of him, as Raf'el threw another blow. Ducking low, Luciaden rolled under it, coming up on the other side of Raf'el. He stuck his sword behind him, over his head and pulled forward and up. The crystal sliced cleanly through Raf'el's unprotected back, gashing a line into the skin, blood flowing from it. A splatter of blood fell upon Luciaden as the sword pulled itself free of the skin and muscle.

Raf'el's legs buckled, and he fell to his knees. Pain blossoming throughout his body. He kept falling, landing on his chest when he was unable to move his hands in front of him. His sword landed and clattered to the ground by him, still as pure silver as it was before. Luciaden slowly rose to his feet, Raf'el could hear as he walked by him, but unable to move and look. The sound of boots falling to the ground as Luciaden strode slowly passed.

"Didn't you learn anything since your existence? Never did you ask yourself how I gained power? Never did you feel the power released when you killed another? Never did you tap into that power, pull it into yourself? Humans, weak we always believed, but nevertheless have their purposes. I have harvested my power from the corpses of those I had killed. Just as I will from you. Just as I got this power I have now from the last of our people. We were not the only survivors. One remained, who gave his life, his power to me. One of the masters of our race, he had learned a way to affect the material world with our powers, but we had insufficient power to do it. However, I have caused deaths, genocide, accumulated the power from the millions of deaths that happened at my hands."

Raf'el fought past the pain flaming inside his body. Through gritted teeth; "I just focused on getting to kill you."

"Ah, but you failed at that didn't you? Just as weak and feeble as when we grew you." The words came out slowly, grinding through Raf'el's conscience as he thought of the goal he had set for his entire life, the death of all Miralukans for what they had done to him.

Something in Raf'el's emotions just snapped. Burning, fiery anger rose above his pain. With a burst of power he picked himself up, grasping his sword. He launched himself at Luciaden, running faster than he had ever done before. He gave a deep guttural scream as he closed the distance between him and Luciaden. Luciaden began to turn as he heard the yelling, but had not enough time to think about blocking before Raf'el flew passed him, his sword gashing a line in the sensitive skin along the side of his torso, cutting the muscle by the rib cage.

Raf'el stumbled, falling again to the ground, unable to continue through.

Luciaden grasped his side where the blade had cut. Gritting his teeth against the pain he walked over to Raf'el's slumped body.

"And now Raf'el. You will meet the fate that was promised to you."

At that Luciaden jammed his sword into the mid-section of Raf'el's back. Slicing through ribs and lungs, severing blood vessels. Stabbing into the life of Raf'el. The blade pinned his body to the rocky dust-covered ground. His body slumped, like a boneless sack, as his life left him.

"And now you vermin. You will die."

And Raf'el, the only remaining living Miralukan besides Luciaden died. His life of vengeance, anger, and pain evaporated.




Luciaden raised his head to see a shuttle descending. The master had come to save its pet. Yet to late to stop the inevitable.

Luciaden smirked. "And now the real target comes. As they all will. Come you dog and meet whats waiting for you."
